# Configuring Rebel Dash in Dialog Software

The following section illustrates the step-by-step procedure to configure Rebel Dash in Dialog software. Here the signals displayed have been logged in the CAN0 bus on the Rebel Dash, which is connected to CAN1.

Begin creating a new configuration by clicking on the 'New Configuration' tab and specifying the name for the configuration.

While performing this step, check the sleep mode settings to avoid battery drain.

* Use the drop-down menu to select the required mode.

* Ensure that the 'Limit Module Wakeup' is not enabled, and then select 'OK'.

Click on the 'Settings' tab and enable the 'Aux Power On' option.

* Read the warning and press 'OK' to proceed.
* Click 'Ok'.

Click on the "New Bus', select CAN 0(HS) and then click 'OK'.

Select the drop-down CAN/bus speed menu, allocate the correct bus speed that matches your CAN network requirement, and then select 'OK'.

From the listed Projects, select the current configuration, click on the 'New Bus' tab, select CAN 1(MS) from the listed options and then click 'OK'.

Select 'Module 1' under CAN 0(HS), Click on 'New Protocol', select 'CAN Monitor' and then click 'OK'.

Click 'OK' to proceed.

Click on the DBC editor.

* Click on add DBC icon.
* Located the DBC file on your PC.
* Select the desired file.
* Select Open.

Select the desired parameters and drag and drop them to the 'items' window or click 'Copy Items'.

Click the unload DBC file icon.

Click on the 'Advanced Config' in the navigation tab.

* Click 'New/Edit Output Signal'.
* In the Output Signals window, click 'Set Output CAN.'
* Select CAN 1(MS) from the CAN Busses drop-down menu in the 'Choose Output CAN' window and then click 'OK' to proceed.

Click the 'New Ident' tab.

* Set/change the indent value (if required).
* Set/define the 'Transmit Rate' of the parameter(s).

Click 'OK' to proceed.

Click the 'Add Item' tab, select the parameter you wish to view live on the Rebel Dash and then click 'Ok'.
